My Mission
Life can be challenging, and sometimes the weight of stress, relationships, and personal struggles can leave you feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of where to turn. You may find yourself trying to manage everything on your own, wondering how to move forward or whether things can truly change.
I believe you deserve a space where you can be yourself, feel genuinely heard, and work through life's challenges without fear of judgment. My goal is to walk alongside you as we explore what you're experiencing, uncover your strengths, and work toward meaningful change in your life.
Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or simply feeling stuck, you don't have to figure everything out on your own.
My Education & Experience
I am currently completing my Master of Social Work (MSW) at Walden University, with an anticipated graduation date of February 2027. I also hold an Interprofessional Substance Use Certificate from Thompson Rivers University, completed in February 2024.
My professional experience includes supporting youth and adults navigating mental health concerns, substance use challenges, developmental disabilities, and relationship difficulties. I've also worked within the Grande Prairie community, helping individuals experiencing homelessness access essential resources and support.
Through these experiences, I've come to appreciate that your story is unique. The challenges you face, the relationships you value, and the experiences that have shaped you all matter. I believe counselling should reflect that individuality rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.
I have a particular interest in helping individuals and couples navigate relationship challenges. Perhaps you're struggling to communicate with your partner, feeling misunderstood, experiencing ongoing conflict, or longing for a deeper sense of connection. Together, we can explore these patterns and identify practical ways to strengthen your relationships.
My developing therapeutic approach draws on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and attachment-based perspectives. I'm also interested in further developing my knowledge of the Gottman Method and EMDR through additional training and supervision.
My Approach to Counselling
I believe that you are the expert in your own life. You know your experiences, your struggles, and your hopes better than anyone else. My role isn't to tell you what to do or how to live, but to come alongside you with curiosity, compassion, and a willingness to understand your perspective.
In our sessions, you can expect a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental environment where we can have honest conversations about what's happening in your life. We'll work together to better understand the challenges you're facing, recognize patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop practical strategies that align with your goals and values.
I recognize that reaching out for counselling can feel uncomfortable, especially when you're unsure of what to expect or where to begin. You don't need to have everything figured out before coming in. We can start wherever you are.
As a Master of Social Work practicum student at BSB Counselling, I provide counselling under professional supervision. My hope is that through our work together, you'll feel supported, better understand yourself and your relationships, and gain greater confidence in navigating life's challenges.
You don't have to have all the answers. Sometimes, meaningful change begins with simply having someone walk alongside you.
